It has been a long time coming, but Windsor is finally hosting a PSA event. Thanks to the hard work of Anis Khan, Windsor Squash and Fitness and the generosity of the squash community in Windsor, this is promising to be a great event. For those of you new to squash, Windsor has quite a reputation in the squash world. We have a booming junior program and many of our juniors have achieved much success on the national stage.
The JK (Jahangir Khan) Challenge is the first event on the schedule and will host many of our up-and-coming players. Jahangir Khan is a former World No. 1 professional Pakistani squash player. He won the World Open title six times , and the British Open title ten times (1982-1991). Jahangir Khan is widely regarded as the greatest squash player of all time. Jahinger will be in town for this tournament. Come out and meet him!
The JK Challenge will be followed by our main PSA event (Windsor Cup). To date, Marwan Elshorbagy (PSA #9), Miguel Rodriguez (PSA #15), Eain Yow Ng (PSA #23) and Shahjahan Khan (PSA #31) have all committed to this event.
Both Windsor Squash and Fitness and Devonshire Mall will be hosting the Windsor Cup. Squash Canada will be bringing in the glass court to maximize viewing and introduce this amazing game to the rest of Windsor.
